Our annual fun regatta for all members was held on 22 August in good conditions (i.e. it didn't rain).
About 20 rowers took part, aged from from 11 to 58. Parents, friends, daytime rowers, the President and interested pasers-by watched. David R with John M and Colin organised. John took on the launch, David was finishing judge and Colin wandered around with a camera (as did Paula).
A round robin competion between five very mixed coxed quads was held first. . Quad crews were:
(1) Robbie, Mina, Will & Lizzy
(2) Karen, Ben S, Caroline & Andy I
(3) Simon D, Yasmine, Rosie & Dan T
(4) Steve, Rachel, Callum & Louise P
(5) Mike, Tom, Ellie & Ben R.
Eights crews were:
(A) Tom, Will, Karen, Rachel, Mike, Caroline, Callum, Dan T & Ollie (c)
(B) Louise, Ben S, Simon, Steve, Ollie, Ellie, Robbie, Ben R & Colin (c).
Winner in the quads round robin competition was crew (5). Winner in the eights face-off was crew (B). There was not time to run the three singles races for the club trophies, so these are held over to another time.
