Tyne Rowing Club is based on the River Tyne at Newburn, just west of Newcastle upon Tyne. We have the longest and best stretch of river for rowing in the north of England. We have active squads for men, women, veteran men, intermediates, novices and juniors.
We have a good fleet of boats of all sizes, a roomful of indoor rowing machines and a gym. You will usually find us rowing or training at the club on Mon, Tue, Wed and Thu evenings from 6.00 to 8.00pm and on Sat and Sun from 8.00am till about 1.00pm.
We are pleased to welcome new members. If you have some experience on the water, you can probably start right now. If not, we will be running Learn to Row courses in summer 2013 for both adults and juniors. More on us here.

The Northern Rowing Council Sunday League series saw its first ever sweep event at Hexham on 5 May. The round-robin races are held the first Sunday of every month till October. Tyne hosts a sculling event on 7 July.
We have two teams in the series - Spandex Ballet (women's) and 4 Guys and 1 Cox (yes, men's, or rather open). At Hexham both won three races out of four - well done! Pics from this and other events on Big Al's Facebook pages.
Tide times in GMT up to 26 May 2013 are below. Clocks went forward on Sunday 31 March, so add an hour to the times shown (and as these are for North Shields, add another 20 minutes for Newburn).
