Welcome to
Tyne Rowing Club
Tyne Rowing Club is on the River Tyne at Newburn, just west of Newcastle upon Tyne. The club was founded in 1852 and is amongst the oldest sporting clubs in England. At almost 20km, we have the longest and best stretch of river for rowing in the north of England. The club has good access to the water at all tides except the very lowest.
We have active squads for men, women, veteran men, novices and juniors. We have a good fleet of boats of all sizes, a roomful of indoor rowing machines and a small weights room. As well as rowing we hold regular social events in the club and elsewhere.

We are pleased to welcome new members. We run learn to row courses in the spring and summer for new starters and provide coaching for all our squads. We work with schools and community organisations to bring new people into the sport. We welcome visiting clubs who may wish to come and use our facilities.
You will usually find us rowing or training at the club on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings from 6.00 to 8.00pm and on Saturday and Sunday mornings from 9.00am till about 1.00pm.
