You have missed it! But all went well with themain Tyne Regatta and the informal Captain's Regatta quads and eights racing afterwards. Some pics on the way (one above of two eights in front of the clubhouse). Results are online at oar-online.uk/tyneregatta24 or as pdf.
Divs 1 & 2 - conventional regatta format
Divisions 1 and 2 were in conventional regatta format, but with a number of mixed events.Timing of divisions was Div 1 starting 10:00 and Div 2 starting at 13:00. First boating was at 09:40 and 12:40 respectively.
We raced in two lanes only (three for two races) over 600 metres, rowing upstream and finishing at Tyne ARC steps. All crews boated at TARC except for those from TURC, who used their own steps.
Div 3 - Captain's Regatta
Division 3 (labelled Tyne ARC Captain's Regatta on the poster) from 15:00 consisted of knock-out races for eights and stable quads, with crews drawn on the day from interested competitors who had raced in Divs 1 and 2 and other TARC club members. These races were not on BROE and no points awarded.
Entries and draw
Entries were by BROE only and opened on 22 July 24 and closed on 7 August 24. There
were a versions 1 & 2 of the draw issued and can be downloaded below.

Tides
Tides were modest, so not strong flows as a result. There was a low tide of 1.58 metres at about 9.00am and high tide of 4.41 metres at about 3.00pm. Go here for the full August tide table for North Shields (make sure you add an hour for BST and 20 minutes for Newburn).

Archive - previous five years 2019-2023
The club cancelled the regatta in 2023 due to fears over a low turnout. It ran most recently in 2022. Documents including results from 2022 are here. The event ran in 2021 and an archive page is here. The regatta was cancelled in 2020 due to Covid-19 and Government and Britsh Rowing restrictions. However a Virtual Tyne ARC Regatta 2020 was held - see its archive page here. The regatta was cancelled in 2019 - see archive page here.
