Entries and draw
Entries to the main regatta were by BROE only. Entries opened on 8 July 26 and closed at 5.00pm on Sunday 16 August 2026.

Divs 1 & 2 - conventional regatta format
Divisions 1 and 2 will be in conventional regatta format, but we would draw attention to our variety of mixed events as well as the J14 additions. Start times of divisions are 10:00 for Division 1 and 12:45 for Division 2, Boat in good time to be at the start at the time shown.
We will race in two lanes only (no three lane races this year) a little over 700 metres, rowing upstream and finishing at the upper Tyne ARC steps. All crews will boat from TARC except for those entered by TURC, who use their own steps.
Div 3 - Captain's Regatta
Division 3 (labelled Tyne ARC Captain's Regatta on the poster) will run from about 16:00 and consist of knock-out races for eights and stable quads, with crews drawn on the day from TARC members plus interested competitors who have raced in Divs 1 and 2. These races are not on BROE and run under Tyne ARC's own insurance, etc. So no BROE points!
Tides
Tides will be very modest, so not a strong flow. There is a high tide of 3.79 metres at about 12:10 and a low tide of 2.33 metres at about 18:30. Go here for the full August 2026 tide table for North Shields (make sure you add an hour for BST and 20 minutes for Newburn).
